This privacy notice has been prepared by Zappar Limited (“Zappar”, or “we”), a company based in the United Kingdom that provides augmented, virtual and mixed reality solutions for businesses. You are receiving, or have been directed to, this privacy notice because we have obtained your personal data from Cognism Limited (“Cognism”). Zappar respects your privacy and wants you to be informed about how we collect, use and process your personal data.

Zappar has obtained some or all of the following personal information about you from Cognism: your name, business email address, business phone number, location, employment history, skills, employer, employer location, technographic data, chronographic data, and intent data (collectively, the ”Third Party Data”). In addition, we may add the Third Party Data to information we already hold about you and we may obtain information directly from you, or automatically from your computer or device when you engage with us, as detailed in our privacy policies for Zappar and Zapworks. 

 

Processing Purposes

Zappar processes the Third Party Data and other business contact information we hold about you for the purposes of marketing our products and services to your business or the business you work for. We do this by contacting you and we may do this through email, over the phone or by other means. We may also use your personal data for analytics purposes and measuring how well our marketing campaigns have performed; product development; and research purposes.

 

We do not sell your personal data to any third parties.

 

We will only share your personal data with third parties where we are permitted to do so under applicable data protection law and only for the purposes of supporting our own business activities.  

 

Our Legal Basis for Processing your Personal Data

Your personal data has been processed by Zappar in reliance on our legitimate interest in business to business marketing of our products and services to your business or employer through you.

Categories of Recipients

Our employees will have access to your personal data on a need to know basis and have employment contracts that contain confidentiality clauses.

 

Zappar shares your personal data where necessary with its third party service providers to undertake our marketing, product development and research activities described in this privacy notice. Examples include cloud hosting providers (to provide data storage and processing services), communication providers such as email messaging platforms and tools (to manage our emails) and data enrichment, analytics and product search vendors.

 

We use HubSpot to provide customer relationship management and business development tools. HubSpot will store your personal data on our behalf as a data processor. 

 

International Data Transfers

Your personal data may be transferred to, stored, and processed by our facilities and by those third parties with whom we may share your personal data, in the United States and other international locations. These countries may have data protection laws that are different to the laws of your country.

 

HubSpot may access and process data on a global basis, including the United States.

 

Regardless of where your data is located, we will treat all your personal data in accordance with applicable law and apply the same protections described in this privacy notice. Where we use processors who are located outside of the United Kingdom or the European Union, in destination countries that are not subject to United Kingdom adequacy regulations, or an adequacy decision of the European Commission, we ensure that we have a contract in writing with the processor that incorporates the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the United Kingdom Information Commissioner's Office or the European Commission, as applicable to the transfer. 

 

Information Security

Data security is of great importance to Zappar. We have put in place commercially reasonable physical, electronic and managerial security measures to protect your personal data from access by unauthorised persons and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage.

 

Data Retention

Our policy is to delete, aggregate or anonym ize business contact information that we have collected in the capacity of a data controller when it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which we collected it.

Your Rights

You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data for marketing purposes. You can do this by replying to the sender of the marketing email or by contacting us using the details provided below. 

 

You also have additional rights in relation to your personal data, which can be exercised at any time, such as a right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of your personal data, a right to restrict processing concerning your personal data, a right to object to processing of your personal data, and a right to data portability. The source of the Third Party Data is accessed through a database provided by a third party, Cognism Limited whose registered office is at 12 Times Court, Retreat Road, Richmond, TW9 1AF, United Kingdom. Your information was gathered by Cognism though publicly available sources (websites, social profiles, news articles) and private sources (paywalled websites, financial and market intelligence, data-as-a-service providers) and on the basis of Cognism’s legitimate interests.
